3. Legal bases for processing
We process your data under the following legal bases (GDPR Article 6):
- Contract performance: Email, name, and booking data are necessary to process your hotel reservations and deliver our service.
- Legitimate interest: Session data and security logs are used to protect the service, prevent fraud, and improve functionality.
- Consent: Google Analytics and marketing cookies are only activated with your explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject all", these cookies are never loaded.
5. TravelDNA profiling
When you complete the TravelDNA quiz, we analyze your responses to create a travel personality profile. This profile scores your preferences on four axes (energy, rhythm, comfort, social) and is used to personalize hotel recommendations.
This constitutes automated profiling under GDPR Article 4(4). The profiling is used solely to improve hotel match relevance and does not produce legal or similarly significant effects. You can request deletion of your TravelDNA profile at any time by contacting us.
6. Who we share data with
- Nuitee Travel (LiteAPI): Our booking partner. When you make a booking, your name, email, and booking details are shared with Nuitee to process the reservation and payment. Nuitee is the merchant of record.
- Hotels: Guest name and booking details are shared with the booked hotel for reservation fulfillment.
- Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data is shared with Google only if you consent to analytics cookies.
- Email service provider: Your email address is processed by our SMTP provider to deliver magic link login emails and booking confirmations.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
7. Data retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
- Booking data: Retained for 6 years after checkout (legal and tax requirements).
- Session tokens: Access tokens expire after 7 days. Refresh tokens expire after 90 days.
- Magic link tokens: Expire after 15 minutes, then automatically deleted.
- Event/analytics logs: Deleted after 90 days.
- Google Analytics data: Per Google's data retention policy (default 14 months).
8. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right to access (Art. 15) — Request a copy of your personal data.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restrict processing (Art. 18) — Limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7) — Withdraw cookie consent at any time via the cookie banner.
- Right to lodge a complaint — You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU member state.

9. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States (via our hosting provider Render.com). These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR Article 46.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Service Description
Hotel Unfiltered is a hotel discovery and booking platform that uses AI-powered review analysis to help travellers find hotels matched to their preferences. We aggregate and analyse publicly available guest reviews to provide unfiltered insights, rankings, and personalised recommendations.
Booking & Payment
Hotel reservations made through Hotel Unfiltered are fulfilled by Nuitee Travel (trading as LiteAPI), which acts as the merchant of record. When you complete a booking, your payment is processed by Nuitee Travel. The charge on your bank statement will appear as “NUITEE” or “NUITEE TRAVEL.”
Hotel Unfiltered earns a commission on bookings made through the platform. This commission never influences hotel rankings, which are determined solely by guest reviews and search criteria.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation policies vary by hotel and rate. The applicable cancellation policy is displayed before you confirm your booking. Refund requests are handled by Nuitee Travel as merchant of record. For support, contact raphael@hotelunfiltered.com.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, algorithms, and ranking systems on Hotel Unfiltered are protected by copyright. The “Guest Fit” ranking methodology and “Unfiltered” visual identity are proprietary. Unauthorised reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
Applicable Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand. EU residents may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
