Phuket travel guide

Phuket is an island and province on Thailand's Andaman coast. Choose the beach or town first; a property in Patong, Kata or Phuket Old Town will organise your days differently.

Choosing your base in Phuket

Start with the places you want to spend time, then compare the route from each hotel. For a beach holiday, investigate the actual entrance to the sand and any road or hill on the way. For a town base, include transport for beach days. A sea-view room and easy beach access are separate things to establish.

Areas to consider

Patong

Consider it if a busy resort setting is part of your holiday. Read recent comments on evening noise and check how far the room is from the activity.

Kata and Karon

Compare these west-coast bases when the beach is central to your plans. A sea-view description does not establish walkable beach access. Check the route and any hills.

Phuket Old Town

Consider a town stay when streets, local food and exploring are your priority. Plan transport for beach days rather than assuming the coast is outside the hotel.

Before choosing a room

Confirm the transfer cost, the room-specific outlook and whether breakfast is included in the rate you choose.

Compare the exact room category, including bed layout, cancellation terms and the full stay total. Hotel photographs may show several categories. If a detail matters to you, look for it in the room description or ask the property.

Where guest evidence is available, use it to investigate specific questions about the stay. Read the supporting comments and their dates. A neighbourhood description cannot establish how quiet an individual room will be.
